PREVALENCE OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE DISTRIBUTING AMONG BEHAVIOR FACTORS AT THU DAU MOT TOWN

Abstract

The project on prevention and control of hypertension has been implemented in Thu Dau Mot city since 2011, no previous studies have been conducted at the community scale to have background data for local planning before. This study was conducted to identify the priority behavioral risk factors that need to be intervened in the prevention and control of hypertension in Thu Dau Mot city. The survey was conducted on 1,920 people in the community with PPS sampling method and normalized analysis of percentage by population. The results showed that the overall prevalence of hypertension was higher in the group of people smoking (from 1.89 to 2.11 times, p < 0.01), and using alcohol (from 1.69 to 2.14 times). with p < .01) or eating salty (1.35 times, p < 0.01), noted that risk behaviors in men including preference for salty foods, weekly alcohol use and alcohol abuse, if the risks falling into women will be those that eat less green vegetables, fruit or use more fat.
