STUDY ON NUTRITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GOLDFOIL BARB IN SAIGON RIVER OF THU DAU MOT CITY

Abstract

The Goldfoil barb is a species of the family Cyprinidae in the order Cypriniformes. This is an economic fish species whose numbers are decreasing. Goldfoil barb research samples were collected from February 2023 to October 2023 in Sai Gon River Binh Duong province. The results analysis of 171 samples shows that goldfoil barbs tend to eat animals. The correlation coefficients of intestine length and standard length (RLG) of fishes weighted from 250grams or more was 0,4415±0,012 and this coefficient increased from 0,3401±0,044 for fishes weighted (48-145grams) to 0,4415±0,012 for fishes weighted over 250grams. The correlation between the length and weight of the goldfoil barb is shown by the equation W = 16904,4. 10-8 L1,8078 . The food composition in the digestive tract of adult goldfoil barb consists of 6 types of food: crustaceans, fish, worms, mollusks, insects and grass. Among them, crustaceans (32.66%) get the highest.
