THE EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLYING SUBTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD STRATEGIES IN AGRICUTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN AN PHU DISTRICT, AN GIANG PROVINCE

Abstract

The article analyzes the effectiveness of applying sustainable agricultural livelihood strategies to adapt to climate change of farmers in An Phu, An Giang. The research results show that climate change affects many aspects of people's socio-economic life. In particular, agricultural production is affected by many impacts caused by climate change such as: extreme weather, irregular rainfall and rainfall, drought leading to crop failure, reduced crop and livestock productivity, increased production costs, and increased care costs. In order to ensure sustainable agricultural production and increase resilience to complex weather changes, farmers need to have appropriate agricultural livelihood strategies to avoid risks caused by extreme weather, while reducing input costs and increasing income in agricultural production. In addition, the government and local agricultural development support policies also help farmers gain more knowledge, financial resources and the ability to link with businesses in agricultural production in a market-oriented manner to create better crop and livestock productivity.
