AN EMERGENTIST APPROACH TO VIETNAMESE SYNTAX

Abstract

Salience is one of the important theories of cognitive linguistics. Using this theory in Vietnamese research is necessary. In this article, the dominant theory plays a central role in identifying, analyzing and explaining the central components of Vietnamese paragraph structure. The writer uses main research methods such as: descriptive research method, comparative research method, data analysis research method. With emergent theory and research methods, the result of the article is the feasibility of operating emergent theory in Vietnamese syntax. The research results are meaningful in terms of discussion and practice. Regarding the essay, the article consolidates and proves the usefulness of the emergence theory and presents a new perspective on identifying, analyzing and explaining the central components of Vietnamese paragraph structure. In practice, the research results of the article can be used in Vietnamese language research and Vietnamese language teaching.
