Evaluation of the implementation of nursing students’ infusion procedure at the Department of Infectious Diseases - Hai Duong General Hospital in 2020

Abstract

The topic “Evaluating the implementation of the infusion procedure of nursing students at the Department of Infectious Diseases - Hai Duong General Hospital in 2020” was carried out with the aim of improving the quality of drug administration for patients, minimizing complications in the infusion process and improve the quality of nursing students. The study was was designed as a cross-sectional descriptive study by how to observe and perform 01 infusion for 01 student of 96 nursing students in the 3rd-year (22 anesthesiology and resuscitation nursing students and 74 general nursing students) who are practicing at Hai Duong Province General Hospital. The research results show that: Most of the nursing students have secured the basic steps in performing the intravenous infusion procedure. In which, the number of nursing students performing the process at the pass level is 23.95%; the relative pass level is 69.79% and the failure level is 6.26%. Conclusion: It is very necessary to evaluate the results of intravenous fluid administration practice of nursing students on patients; Help nursing students recognize shortcomings and promptly supplement so that errors do not occur in the process of performing the infusion.
