Digital transformation: A big step in health industry

Abstract

Currently, digital transformation has been a trend of businesses in general and the healthcare industry in particular. Decision No. 749/QD-TTg dated June 3, 2020 on “National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with orientation to 2030” identifies the healthcare/healthcare sector as one of the priority sectors for digital transformation. In Vietnam, the process of digital transformation in the health sector is gradually being implemented such as applying medical software systems in hospitals to ensure connectivity, sharing and integrating data, creating a premise for improving automation capabilities; digitizing health information systems; deploying electronic medical records; electronic prescription management system; remoting medical examination and treatment, remoting patient monitoring; developing the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical examination and treatment and so on. The article focuses on studying the current situation and evaluating the results of digital transformation, on that basis, proposes a number of solutions to contribute to the improvement of medical conditions and high quality digital transformation in the healthcare industry
