SOLUTIONS TO DEVELOP PRODUCTION OF CAVENDISH BANANAS IN TRANG BOM DISTRICT, DONG NAI PROVINCE

Abstract

This study aims to assess the current situation and propose solutions for developing Cavendish banana (banana) production in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province. Through inheriting secondary data and collecting primary data from 130 banana-producing households in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province. The research results showed that banana production in the period of 2021-2023 has brought high economic efficiency to local people. However, this production activity faces many difficulties such as: spontaneous production, not meeting VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards for export, limited production linkage model, and unstable prices. Based on the current situation of banana production, this study has proposed a number of solutions to develop the production of Cavendish bananas in a stable manner, contributing to the sustainable development of local household economies.
