This paper analyzes the increasingly significant role of private higher education in the context of private sector development in Vietnam. From supplying high-quality human resources and fostering spaces for innovation, to contributing to the restructuring of the knowledge ecosystem within a market economy, private higher education is emerging as a strategic pillar. Based on an analysis of the current situation and existing barriers, the paper proposes policy orientations aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the private higher education sector, in close alignment with the dynamics of the private economy
