New directions in the treatment of palmar hyperhidrosis

Abstract

The article introduces some new directions in the treatment of palmar hyperhidrosis - excessive sweating which negatively affects patients’ quality of life. The author has synthesized from 12 selected articles, with a total of 1,192 patients treated for palmar hyperhidrosis, of which 567 patients received T3 thoracic sympathectomy and 625 patients received T4 thoracic sympathectomy. After analysis, the study shows that T4 thoracic sympathectomy has fewer side effects than T3 thoracic sympathectomy, so T4 may be the optimal level for thoracic sympathectomy in patients with palmar hyperhidrosis.
