Studying on regulations of decision of punishment in current Vietnamese criminal law

Abstract

In Vietnamese criminal law, punishment is considered as the most severe coercive measure of the state. It is stipulated in the Penal Code and applied by the Court on persons who have committed the crime to punish, educate and rehabilitlate them. This article studies on the decision of punishment from the perspective of concepts, meanings, classifications and grounds for determining punishment for persons who commit the crimes.
