Challenges of non-traditional security and problems in completing Vietnamese criminal law

Abstract

Although the threats of non-traditional security do not directly challenge the national territorial sovereignty, they threaten human as individuals, communities, and the nation - state. They also threaten and destroy the elements that create the foundation for the survival and development of individuals, social communities, nations and all humanity. There is also a need for the timely change and improvement in the general law and the criminal law to deal with the challenges facing social effects of the non-traditional security, including organized crimes, transnational crimes, cybercrimes, etc. In this article, the author clarifies the challenges of non-traditional security under the approach perspective of the criminal law, then makes conclusions and recommendations for Vietnamese criminal law.
