International laws and laws of some Southeast Asian countries on illegal fishing and recommendations for improving Vietnamese criminal law

Abstract
Illegal fishing is a serious issue affecting food security, marine economy and ecological environment of many coastal countries. This article presents an overview of the international legal framework related to illegal fishing and related provisions in the criminal law of some Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines. From there, the article makes some recommendations to improve Vietnamese law as well as solutions to prevent and combat this behavior in Vietnam in the coming time.
