Community reintegration of ex-offenders in some countries in the world - Experience for Vietnam

Abstract

Being the responsibility of numerous authorities and organizations from the central government to local levels, community reintegration of ex-offenders is a complex process in Vietnam in particular and the world in general. The effectiveness of community reintegration program in each nation determines whether the rate of recidivism and dangerous recidivism is high or low. Therefore, each country in the world implements policies and measures from different perspectives to ensure that former prisoners successfully reintegrate into society. This article will focus on the successful community reintegration initiatives of some nations worldwide; on that basis, proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of this activity in Vietnam.
