Completing regulations on prosecution over trial of criminal cases to meet the requirements of judicial reform in the current period

Abstract

In Resolution No. 27/NQ-TW, dated November 9, 2022, of the 6th session of the 13th Party Central Commiflee, on continuing to build and perfect the law-governed socialist state of Vietnam in new era, the issue of strengthening internal control over the exercise of the right to prosecute and supervise trial activities in accordance with the principle that judges and jury members adjudicate independently in strict compliance with the law only has been raised. The implementation of the function of supervising criminal trial contributes to ensuring human rights, citizen rights as well as the effectiveness of the Court’s sefllement of criminal cases. Researching and evaluating current legal provisions on supervision of trials in relation to the viewpoints of judicial reform is of great significance in the current period.
