Laws of several countries in the world on preventing and handling fake news on cyberspace and experiences for Vietnam
Abstract
: Fake news on cyberspace has emerged as a significant challenge faced by numerous countries worldwide, including Vietnam. The inability to effectively and promptly prevent and address the spread of fake news can lead to serious consequences, infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of the State, organizations and individuals. Therefore, Vietnam and other countries have enacted legal provisions aimed at preventing and combating fake news. This article analyzes provisions in laws of some countries in the world on addressing fake news on cyberspace. On the basis of selectively absorbing these international experiences, it proposes several recommendations for Vietnam to enhance its legal system and ensure the effective enforcement of measures against fake news.
