Circumvention of trade remedy measures for imported goods into Vietnam – Identification, response and some recommendations

Abstract

This article examines the identification and response to the circumvention of trade remedy measures applied to imports into Vietnam, within the context of deepening international economic integration. By clarifying relevant legal concepts and the prevailing forms of trade remedy circumvention, and assessing Vietnam’s institutional capacity to detect and address such practices from 2017 to the present, the paper offers recommendations aimed at strengthening Vietnam’s ability to identify and respond to the circumvention of trade remedy measures.
