Improving legal framework for the legislative activities of the National Assembly of Vietnam toward professionalism, effectiveness and efficiency

Abstract

It is essential to reform the organization and operations of the National Assembly, aiming for professional, effective and efficient functioning. In recent years, although the legislative activity – one of fundamental and most important functions of the National Assembly’s has shown positive developments, contributing to the improvement of legal system and the promotion of socio-economic development, several limitations have remained. This article analyzes these shortcomings and proposes a number of solutions on the National Assembly’s legislative activities in Vietnam, within the context of governmental streamlining and international integration, to foster national development in the new era.
