The rationale for the existence of the Investigation Agency of the People’s Procuracy in the current judicial reform period

Abstract

Recently, certain viewpoints have suggested that the Investigation Agency within the People’s Procuracy system should be abolished; its investigative powers should be transferred to the Security Investigation Agencies under the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence. This article examines such perspectives by analyzing the fundamental bases for the existence of the Investigation Agency of the People’s Procuracy, including its politicallegal, theoretical, and practical foundations. It can be observed that the continued existence of this institutional system within the state apparatus is an objective necessity.
