Trauma-informed care approach in working with victims of human trafficking

Abstract

Victims of human trafficking, after escaping exploitation, will show signs of both physical and emotional trauma. In order to protect and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the victims, as well as to facilitate the investigation, prosecution  and adjudication of human trafficking cases; investigators and support staff need to understand the psychological trauma of victims and have the appropriate approaches to support them.
