Abstract

Ensuring equality, non-discrimination and promoting the enjoyment of the rights of people with disabilities, including the right to work, is not only a national issue but a global issue today. For Vietnam, in the context of implementing and legislating the contents of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), this requirement becomes even more urgent when people with disabilities face countless barriers due to physical difficulties, social interactions and legal mechanisms which limit their employment opportunities and participation in the labor market. The article is based on analyzing the current status of the content of the right to work as well as the requirements to ensure the right to work, comparing Vietnamese legal regulations with the content of the CRPD Convention, recommending a number of solutions to complete the law regarding ensuring the right to work of people with disabilities in Vietnam today.
