Improving Vietnam’s legal framework on rights of migrant workers
Abstract
Migrant workers, despite their significant contributions to the economic development of both sending and receiving countries, are also one of the most vulnerable social groups in terms of human rights. According to international human rights law, all migrant workers have the right to respect, protection and full enjoyment of their human rights, regardless of their immigration status. Vietnam has built a relatively comprehensive legal framework on the rights of migrant workers, but there are still certain limitations. Based on the analysis of the current situation, the article proposes solutions to improve the legal framework to enhance the protection of migrant workers’ rights in Vietnam, meeting the requirements of development and international integration of the country in the new period.
