Abstract

The offense of intentionally inflicting injury or causing harm to another person’s health is a long-standing crime in the criminal laws of many countries. Due to differences in social contexts, legislative history and policy orientations, the legal provisions governing this offense vary across jurisdictions. In Vietnam, despite of numerous amendments and supplementations, this offense has remained limitations that require further legal research and reform. This article examines the criminal law provisions of Vietnam and selected foreign legal systems regarding this offense, thereby drawing on comparative legal experiences to offer recommendations for improving the Vietnamese legal framework.
