Basic theoretical issues on institutions

Abstract

Institution is one of the topics grabbing the whole society’s attention as it refers to all subjects in society and has important theoretical and practical significance, especially in the context of institutional reform being considered one of the breakthroughs in national development. This article contributes to studying the basic theoretical issues on institutions, including an overview of the formation and development of institutional theory, concepts, characteristics, functions, classification, roles and meanings of institutions in social development and makes recommendations on perfecting institutions to serve national development in the new era.
