Marriage customary laws of the Hmong in Dien Bien province – Evaluations and recommendations

Abstract

The article introduces some marriage customary laws of the Hmong in Dien bien province, especially the punishment “elder sister’s face washing” in case younger sister gets married before their elderly which is being applied among the Mong community. Thereby, the author evaluates and recommends about preserving and promoting progressive customary laws, eliminating backward customary laws.
