CURENT SITUATION AND TRAINING NEEDS OF PRESENTATION SKILLS OF STUDENS AT UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION – THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY
Abstract
Presentation is one of the basic and important soft skills for people in general and especially for pedagogical students - future teachers. This study aims to assess the current situation and training needs of presentation skills of students at University of Education - Thai Nguyen University. The study conducted a survey of 350 students and interviewed Youth Union - Student Association officers, managers, lecturers who are student affairs assistants and inter-branch union secretaries. The research results showed that students at University of Education - Thai Nguyen University have recognized the importance of presentation skills, but still face many difficulties and lack confidence in practicing this skill. Although there have been training and education activities by the school, lecturers and mass organizations, students have a high demand for training in presentation skills, especially the opening of short-term training courses with certificates. Based on the analysis of the current situation of students' presentation skills, the current situation of training presentation skills for students at University of Education - Thai Nguyen University, the group of authors proposes solutions to meet the needs of students, improve the quality of presentation skills training in particular and the quality of education and training in general.
