THE AUGUST REVOLUTION AND THE AWAKENING OF NATIONAL CULTURE - A PERSPECTIVE FROM THE ARTISTIC MOVEMENT
Abstract
The August Revolution of 1945 not only ushered in an era of national independence but also spurred the revival and vigorous development of Vietnamese culture. Using historical methods, interdisciplinary methods and content analysis, this research was conducted to clarify the cultural awakening through the lens of art during this period and the lasting impact of the August Revolution on the country's art and culture. Research results show that the art movement during this period deeply reflected the patriotic spirit, desire for freedom and revolutionary will of the people. With the revolution’s success, the patriotic spirit and desire for independence spread widely, becoming a powerful driving force for the development of literature, music, painting, and theater. The research results once again confirm the relationship between revolution and art, and the vital role of culture in shaping national identity and serving revolutionary ideals.
