Abstract

Applying experiential teaching methods to social sciences and humanities at military academies and schools is an urgent requirement to improve the quality of teaching, contributing to the development of political qualities, critical thinking and practical capacity for officer cadets. By means of analysis, synthesis, survey and sociological investigation, the article focuses on clarifying the theoretical basis and current status of applying experiential teaching methods in teaching social sciences and humanities at a number of military academies and schools. The research results show that experiential teaching methods have been initially applied in many units, with some effective organizational forms. However, the application of experiential teaching methods still has limitations that need to be overcome. On that basis, the article proposes a number of solutions to effectively apply experiential teaching methods in teaching social sciences and humanities, contributing to the innovation of education and training methods for military officers to meet the requirements of the new situation.
