THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PARTY'S THINKING ON THE SOCIALIST-ORIENTED MARKET ECONOMY THROUGH 40 YEARS OF RENOVATION
Abstract
The socialist-oriented market economy is the general economic model of Vietnam throughout the transitional period toward socialism. Since 1986, the Communist Party of Vietnam has consistently focused on building a comprehensive, effective, and context-appropriate socialist-oriented market economy in line with the characteristics of the country. This article primarily employs historical and logical methods to elucidate the evolution of the Party’s perception and thinking regarding the socialist-oriented market economy over 40 years of comprehensive and synchronized national renovation. The research results indicate that the choice of the socialist-oriented market economy model is correct and consistent with Vietnam’s realities. The thinking of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the socialist-oriented market economy has evolved from being incomplete to increasingly comprehensive, and from less profound to progressively more profound. The research findings once again reaffirm the Party’s sound exploration and appropriate application in building a democratic, equitable, and civilized society.
