Abstract

The study aims to evaluate farmers’ perceptions of the impacts of climate change on the cultivation of key industrial crops in Krong No district, Dak Nong province, and to analyze households’ adaptation practices. Research data were collected through in depth interviews, group discussions, and survey questionnaires with 50 households cultivating key industrial crops (coffee and pepper). The results show that coffee and pepper cultivation in Krong No district has been heavily affected by climate change. In response, households have applied various adaptation measures such as adopting drought and disease resistant varieties, investing in water saving irrigation systems, shifting to high tech agriculture, and engaging in certified agricultural production. By recording significant changes in farmers’ awareness and adaptive actions toward extreme weather events, the study proposes the application of solutions that are suitable for the natural conditions of the research area as well as other regions with similar ecological conditions.
