THE WORKERS PARTY OF VIETNAM LED THE PRESS WORK (1955-1964)
Abstract
The Communist Party and the Government of Vietnam have always recognized the press as an inseparable part of the national revolutionary cause. In the period from 1955 to 1964, the press played an important strategic role in propagating the resistance against colonialism, nation-building, guiding public opinion, maintaining the revolutionary stance, and fighting against the distorted narratives of colonialists and imperialist lackeys. Therefore, this study focuses on clarifying the leadership of the Vietnam Workers' Party in press work from 1955 to 1964. The article mainly uses the specialized research method of historical research and logical method. The findings reveal that the resolutions, directives, and circulars on journalism from 1955 to 1964 demonstrate the Party’s consistent leadership and guidance in the development of the press. The research results affirm the correctness and creativity of the Party in leading press work. This will serve as a useful reference for lecturers, students, and readers interested in the history of the press and the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
