TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN LONG AN PROVINCE DURING THE PERIOD 2010 - 2020

Abstract

Tourism is one of the important economic sectors in many localities. During the period 2010-2020, Long An province's tourism sector achieved many positive results, evidenced by increases in revenue, the number of tourists, and significant contributions to economic growth, structural transformation, and social stability. This article uses historical, logical, and statistical methods, collecting and processing secondary data to reconstruct tourism activities in Long An province over the past decade. The results show that, thanks to unified policies, timely implementation, and effective exploitation of tourism resources, the province has attracted many domestic and international tourists, and tourism revenue has continuously increased. Based on this, the research contributes to clarifying the achievements, identifying existing limitations, determining the causes, and proposing solutions such as rational tourism zoning planning, exploiting eco-cultural-agricultural tourism, developing inter-regional tourism, etc., in order to promote the local image and gradually make tourism one of the key economic sectors in the coming period.
