NEW RECORDS AND UPDATED COMPSITION OF REPTILIES IN XUAN SON NATIONAL PARK, PHU THO PROVINCE

Abstract

This study presents the result of the current status of reptilian species in Xuan Son National Park, Phu Tho Province. We conducted 6 conservation surveys between 2018 and 2019, we collected 138 specimens of 64 reptilian species belonging to 49 genus, 20 family and 2 order. Among them, Squamata is the most diverse set with 16 family, 58 species. The study showed the new distributional records of family Xenopeltidae and 18 species this area. The study area identified reptilian including 14 species named in the Vietnam’s Red Data Book (2007); 6 species listed in the IUCN Red List (2018);10 species named in Decree of Government 32/2006 / ND-CP.
