CLINICAL PATHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF DOGS INFECTED WITH TAPEWORM IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE
Abstract
This study aimed to identify some clinical pathological characteristics of dogs infected with tapeworms in Thai Nguyen province, we collected and examined feacal of 947 dogs raising in some district/city of Thai Nguyen province, identifying clinical pathological pathological manifestations and hematological changes in dogs infected with tapeworms. Results showed that there were 364 dogs infected in the total 947 dogs, accounted for 38.44%; infected dogs had a weak condition, pale mucous membranes, vomiting, slow growth, diarrhoea, anal itching, and there were many tapeworm proglottides in dog’s feacal. The main lesions were: bleeding hemorrhage, cata inflammation, many small ulcers, intestinal mucosa covered with brown –yellow mucus. Dogs infected with many tapeworms had a decrease of red blood cells, an increase of white blood cells, hemoglobin and hematocrit reduced, decrease of neutrophils, an increase of eosinophils.
