KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES AND FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PATIENT SAFETY AMONG HEALTH WORKERS AT THE GENERAL HOSPITAL OF MOC CHAU DISTRICT, SON LA 2019
Abstract
This study was conducted to describe 170 medical staff’s knowledge, attitudes and analysis of some factors related to patient safety at the General Hospital in Moc Chau district, Son La province by cross-sectional method. The results showed that subjects with correct knowledge of patient safety accounted for 60.6%. The leading causes of medical errors or patient health care insecurity were personal errors (89.4%), system errors (59.4%) and management, administration and the environment work (50%). All health workers were subject to medical errors with severe consequences (over 98%). The rate of study respondents with correct attitudes toward patient safety was very high (99.4%). Factors associated with knowledge and attitudes about patient safety among health workers were found to be education level, andthe average weekly working hours.
