STUDY ON THE HOUSEHOLD WASTE SORTING AT SOURCE IN GROUPS 1, 2, 3 HOANG VAN THU WARD, THAI NGUYEN CITY

Abstract

This research was carried out to assess the current status of household waste sorting at the source to propose practical solutions to achieve efficiency in the household waste sorting at source in Thai Nguyen city. The methods used in this study include analytical method, document synthesis, sociological investigation method, and mathematical method. The study results indicated that 100% of households and business households in the area of groups 1, 2, and 3 agreed and supported to the project of household waste sorting at source; 93.88-98.71% of households know how to sort waste; 96% of households put household waste in the right place. The majority of households have carried out the household waste sorting, and the percentage of households implementing the household waste sorting ranges from 52.6-56.9%. The number of households using household waste sorting tools for right purposes and dumping them on time is not high. To achieve the sorting waste at source and maintain effectively, the organization and implementation need to be carried out synchronously, attracting the participation and response of the entire population, in the direction of: Sorting at the right source, collect properly, treat effectively and carry out propaganda more often to the people.
