LEARNING MOTIVATION OF DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS STUDENTS IN DONG THAP UNIVERSITY
Abstract
This article presents research results on learning motivation and motivational sources that govern the learning of students of the Department of Economics, Dong Thap University. To conduct this study, the authors conducted a survey of 260 students studying at the Faculty of Economics by stratified random sampling method. The results showed that most of the students are influenced by internal motivation, in which learning to "capture and master knowledge" and "improve qualifications and expand understanding" have strongly influence student learning. This means that most of the students find that the need for learning is first of develop themselves in the future, learning that is to meet expectations or rewards from family, school is only a secondary. In addition, there are differences in the type of learning motivation by majors and gender. Research results provide useful information for educational administrators to orient students with the right learning motivation.
