EFFECTS OF PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION LINKS ON TOTAL PRODUCTS OF PORK, POULTRY AND POULTRY EGGS IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS REGION
Abstract
The study used secondary data collected from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and primary data collected from 480 farmers with potential for commodity production and for commercial production of agricultural products to assess the influence of linkages in production and consumption of pork, poultry and poultry eggs in the Northern mountainous region. Research results have shown that (1) Pig and poultry farming are the two main types of livestock production in the Northern mountainous region, (2) Linking production and consumption according to Decree No. 98/2018 /ND-CP has a positive effect on increasing pork and poultry production. The total output of pork, meat and poultry eggs produced is positively correlated with the output of pork, meat and poultry eggs produced in the form of cooperation/association. The research recommends encouraging and creating favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate with cooperatives, farms and farmers in production and consumption of products. There should be preferential policies and mechanisms and create favorable conditions to build and develop effective linkage models between enterprises, cooperatives, farms and farmers.
