CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND ENDOSCOPIC IMAGES OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC GASTRIC AND DUODENAL ULCERS TREATED AT THAI NGUYEN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL'S DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL IN 2020
Abstract
The study aims to describe clinical features and comment on endoscopic images in patients with inflammation, stomach ulcers - duodenal ulcers treated at the Department of Internal Medicine Thai Nguyen International Hospital. Research method cross-sectional description on 51 patients treated for gastroduodenal ulcers from January 2020 to June 2020. The results showed that gastritis (84.3%) and gastric/duodenal ulcers (15.7%). The female/male ratio was 1.2. The average age was 45.6 years old. The main reason for admission to hospital was epigastric pain (86.3%). Common medical histories were substance use (21.6%) and psychological stress (19.6%). The most common clinical symptoms are epigastric pain (92.2%), bloating (72.5%), belching, heartburn (45.1%), and poor appetite (49.0%). Most patients have lesions in the anturm and pyloric region. There are 53.5% of patients with congestive gastritis. Conclusion The gastroduodenal endoscopy should be indicated for patients with symptoms of peptic ulcer disease to investigate the damage of the esophagus - stomach - duodenum and increase counseling for patients indicating endoscopy H.pylori test combination will give high sensitivity and reliability.
