PẢ DUNG SINGING IN THE SPIRITUAL LIFE OF THE DAO PEOPLE IN PHUC CHU, DINH HOA, THAI NGUYEN
Abstract
Considered one of the cultural treasures, Pả dung singing is a unique folk song in the folklore treasure of the Dao ethnic group in Phuc Chu commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province. Modern life brings many types of interweaving cultures, making the majority of young people not very interested in the forms of traditional cultural activities, but the people here always try to preserve and pass on Pả dung singing because it is the culture and belief of the Dao people. This study was conducted to summarize the meaningful content and performance art of the Pa Dung lyrics, thereby spreading the creative values and transmitting the beauty imbued with the identity of the Dao people. The research team conducted fieldwork, collected notes, interviewed, recorded, videotaped, and collected Pa dung songs from artisans and elderly people in in Lang Gay hamlet, Phuc Chu commune. Research results show that Pa Dung's lyrics clearly reflect their material and spiritual life. We have translated the meaning of the 34 Pả dung songs collected from the Dao ethnic language into common language so that all people, especially young people can access them more easily. So, the article hope contributes a small part to the preservation and introduction of a unique folk art form in the lives of people in “the capital of forest wind" - Thai Nguyen.
