Abstract

Nutrition education for children in preschool is not a simple task because it involves children’s development, the teacher’s pedagogy method, and children’s behavior change. This study is to examine the factors that affect the efficiency of nutrition education for preschool-aged children, as well as their potential impact on nutrition knowledge and behavior in preschool-aged children. Methods used include analysis, synthesis, statistics, and evaluation based on documents that have been published directly or online. The data were collected by using the survey questionnaire via Google Forms with 90 kindergarten teachers in Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen, and Cao Bang provinces. Research results show that nutrition education for children in preschool to be highly effective requires a combination of many factors, such as nutrition policies, nutrition’s programs and projects, teachers, preschool children, families, facilities for child care, and children's education. Among those factors, teachers play the main role of transmitting nutrition education messages to children in preschool.
