EFFECTS OF LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES ON CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Language has an extremely important role for humans and is a unique feature of human society. Language is a means for people to exchange and communicate, to help others understand their thoughts, needs and desires. This study was conducted to assess the impact of language difficulties on children's development. To carry out the research, we used the descriptive overview research method, the documentary research method and the data processing method by collecting data from 20 published research papers. The references are then processed by analyzing the content and sifting through information related to the impact of language difficulties on children. The analysis results show that language difficulties have affected 3 main problems in children: firstly, affecting the learning process and intellectual development of children; second, affect the communication process; third, affect the child's psychosocial and behavior. This research result will be the theoretical basis for future research projects on children with language difficulties and contribute to supporting educators in early intervention activities for children.
