LOCAL MARKETING SOLUTIONS TO ATTRACT TOURISTS IN BINH DUONG PROVINCE

Abstract

Binh Duong province is located in the Southern Key Economic Zone of Vietnam where it has a lot of potential for tourism development (beautiful natural landscape, charming river system, many historical relic values, infrastructure, etc. complete infrastructure). However, compared with the development of industry, the tourism just accounts very small proportion in the economic structure, not commensurate to the current tourism potential. This paper aims to clarify the current tourism situation of the province and suggests some solutions to attract more and more tourists on the basis of a sociological survey of 129 tourists in five tourist places of Binh Duong province. The proposed local marketing solutions are suitable to Binh Duong province, Vietnam, including 'diversifying tourism products', 'promoting industrial tourism development', 'promoting the development of trade village tourism', 'promoting the development of garden tourism', and 'promoting the development of cultural research tourism'. This research contributes to supplement the theory of local marketing and provides empirical knowledge to the locality in implementing strategies to attract more and more tourists.
