THE SITUATION OF DEVELOPING INTEGRATED TEACHING COMPETENCY FOR PRE-SERVICE PRIMARY TEACHERS
Abstract
The integrated perspective is one of the important orientations in the construction of the primary educational curriculum in 2018. The development of integrated teaching competency for pre-service elementary teachers has recently begun to be noticed. This article studies the current situation of developing integrated teaching competency for pre-service elementary teachers in some Universities of Education across the country. Through the survey method with questionnaires and interviews, 42 primary faculty lectures from some Universities of Education participated in the research. The survey results were processed by descriptive statistics and analyzed the correlation between variables on SPSS software. Research results show that lecturers are aware of the benefits of integrated teaching and think that equipping pre-service primary teachers with this competency is essential. However, lecturers in different Universities of Education have different approaches to this competency development for learners. Therefore, the level of expression of this competency in learners at universities is different. The obtained research results are also the basis for us to propose some measures to develop this competency for pre-service elementary teachers in further studies.
