FIELD-LAND SITUATION OF TONG TRA LINH, CHAU THACH LAM, CAO BANG PROVINCE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY THROUGH STUDYING CADASTRAL REGISTERS OF GIA LONG DYNASTY 4 (1805)
Abstract
Land ownership is a picture that fully depicts the enormous changes in the development of national territory and culture. With the use of historical and logical methods, this study aims to clarify the characteristics of field-land situation of Tong Tra Linh, Chau Thach Lam, Cao Bang province in the first half of the 19th century through studying cadastral registers of Gia Long dynasty 4 (1805). The study conducted to collect the cadastral registers established in the Nguyen Dynasty at Gia Long 4 (1805) with a total of 8 cadastral registers units, saved at National Archives Center I (Hanoi). The research results show that the characteristics of field-land in Tong Tra Linh, Chau Thach Lam were very diverse, including private field-land, private farm land... In which, private field-land occupied a very large area (93.86%). In the 19th century, the area of public field-land was reduced in relation to the total land area and in relation to private land. This study provided valuable evidence for reference in planning the current land management policy of Cao Bang province.
