DELIVERING TOPIC “HYDROELECTRIC DAMS WITH SUSTAINALBE DEVELOPMENT” IN TEACHING KINETIC AND POTENTIAL ENERGY - PHYSICS GRADE 10 TO ENHANCE STUDENTS' AWARENESS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Enhancing awareness of sustainable development through integration teaching is an issue of concern. In the 2018 Physics curriculum, one of objectives in physics competence is that students can state and implement some solutions to protect nature, and have reasonable behavior and attitudes for sustainable development. This research is for compiling the practical topic "Hydroelectric dams with sustainable development" in teaching the content "Kinetic and potential energy" in the 10th grade curriculum. The learning topic paves conditions for students not only to learn relevant knowledge about kinetic energy, potential energy and energy transformation, but also develop students’ awareness of sustainable development. Through questionnaires, behavioral observations and learning products, the study recorded the positive result in teaching physics, and changes in students' awareness of sustainable development, especially in environmental aspect.
