STEM THEME WITH "TOPIC 10.3. PHYSICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION EDUCATION" CONTENT BASED ON 6E PROCESS TO DEVELOP PROBLEM SOLVING AND CREATIVITY COMPETENCIES OF GRADE 10 STUDENTS
Abstract
In this scientific paper, we present the research results on the development of problem solving and creativity skills of some student groups after participating in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning theme. Problem solving and creativity are core competencies, the foundation for students' activities in the classroom and in life, which have been included in the 2018 General Education Program by the Ministry of Education and Training. Therefore, we designed and organized a STEM theme based on the 6E teaching and learning process proposed by ITEEA (International Technology and Engineering Educators Association). The evaluation results were collected, recorded, and evaluated by us using mathematical statistical methods and case study methods based on students' behavioral expressions and learning sheets. They have shown development of competencies after students participated in the first 3 activities of the lesson, increasing from 3 points to 3.4 points.
