CAREER ORIENTATION IN INTERPRETATION FOR KOREAN STUDIES STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE, THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

As of 2023, Korea has been a leading investor in Vietnam, which has significantly increased the demand for Korean language proficient personnel to cater to the trade and investment activities between Vietnam and Korea. This demand has led to a rapid increase in the number of universities in Vietnam offering Korean Studies programs, including the University of Science- Thai Nguyen University. Students of Korean Studies often choose careers in interpretation after graduation. This research aims to identify students' perspectives on interpretation as a career choice and how it influences their future career orientation. By using survey methods, the study clarifies the interpretation career orientation of Korean Studies students at the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University. Understanding these students' viewpoints on interpretation career orientation can help evaluate the motivational trends in student enrollment, allowing for adjustments in the curriculum to meet the actual needs of students and the labor market, thereby enhancing the program's appeal to potential future students.
