FACTORS AFFECTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM PRODUCTS IN CHAU THANH DISTRICT, BEN TRE PROVINCE

Abstract

Tourism product development creates competitive advantages and promotes sustainable tourism development at destinations. Chau Thanh district (Ben Tre province) has many advantages to develop tourism, thus, the locality has identified the development of tourism products as one of key directions and tasks in the future. This study was carried out to analyze factors affecting tourism product development in Chau Thanh district. Research data were collected from a survey of 144 tourists visiting the study area. Through the test of scale reliability, the analysis of exploratory factor and multiple linear regression, the results of study point out 5 factors having a statistically significant and positive influence on the development of tourism products in Chau Thanh, of which, the type of tourism is the most influential factor. This study provides documents as an important basis and a good reference for policy-making managers.
