SOLUTIONS TO PROMOTE FARMERS’ ACCESS TO INFORMATION IN THE BUSINESS PROCESS IN THE NORTHERN MIDLAND AND MOUNTAINOU AREAS, VIETNAM
Abstract
This study examines the state of information access in post-production (business) period among farmers in the Northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam, identifies key barriers, and proposes solutions to improve the effective use of agricultural information. Using descriptive statistical methods, the findings show that farmers primarily access practical information such as prices, markets, and production techniques, while more advanced topics such as e-commerce, risk management, and international standards remain limited. Information access still relies heavily on traditional channels, while modern platforms are not effectively utilized due to limited skills and infrastructure. Based on these findings, the study proposes four solution groups: enhancing information literacy, improving technological infrastructure, establishing intermediary support networks, and developing user-friendly agricultural information systems. These efforts aim to modernize the agricultural information environment and support sustainable development in the Northern midland and mountainous region.
