FACTORS AFFECTING THE ADAPTABILITY OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN TEACHING ACTIVITIES ACCORDING TO THE 2018 GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AT PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS OF VIETNAM
Abstract
The paper investigates the factors influencing the adaptability of teachers and students to teaching and learning activities under the 2018 General Education Program in primary schools located in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam. The primary research method employed is a survey using questionnaires, conducted with 66 teachers and 300 students from six primary schools. The results indicate that multiple factors affect teachers' adaptability to teaching activities under the 2018 General Education Program. Among these, the most influential factors include students’ competencies and their readiness to attend Grade 1, school infrastructure, and teachers’ professional competencies. For students, various factors also impact their adaptability to learning activities under the program. The most significant factors of these are the academic demands of the subjects and the students’ own abilities. Based on the findings, the authors propose several recommendations to enhance the adaptability of both teachers and students to teaching and learning activities aligned with the 2018 General Education Program in primary schools in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam.
